A documentary about Valley Plaza & Laurel Plaza in North Hollywood.
These malls were unique, because they were the first ones to ever be built with the automobile in mind. Previous shopping centers were in heavily trafficked downtowns. Laurel Plaza & Valley Plaza were constructed next to the not-yet-built freeways.
I think some of these early facts, and the narration and score style are terrible, but still pretty fascinating for my previous urban planner self.
